Our Journey

NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad started the Access to Justice Program for Prisoners in April 2024. This is a systematic extension of the Prison Legal Aid Clinic Program run by the university since 2018.

The attempt is to provide qualitative free legal aid to the under-trial prisoners in Telangana. It aims to support prisoners from vulnerable backgrounds like those who are poor, illiterate and are socially and economically disadvantaged.

This goal is achieved through systematic and holistic intervention by a team of trained and dedicated advocates, social workers and law students interested in the criminal justice system.
